Fit Guide

Will these fit me?

A straight answer, so you can order with confidence.

Our shoes are a roomy comfort fit — designed in Europe by Tamaris and Jana to be generous and kind to feet that have changed, with a little extra room through the toe, cushioned footbeds and soft linings. They're made to feel wonderful all day and still look lovely.

To be clear up front: that's a roomier standard fit, not a specialist extra-wide (EEE) or medical fitting. We'd rather tell you that now than have a shoe arrive that isn't right.

These are likely made for you if…

  • Your feet have widened or changed with age, and standard shoes feel tight
  • You have bunions and want nothing pressing on the joint (see our Bunion-Friendly range)
  • You wear orthotics — many styles have a removable footbed to make room for yours (Orthotic-Friendly)
  • Your feet swell through the day and you want room to move
  • You want genuine comfort without an orthopaedic look

They may not be right if…

You need a true extra-wide (EEE) or specialist medical fitting. Our shoes may feel snug — we're a roomy comfort fit rather than a dedicated wide-fitting brand, and a specialist would serve you better for that need.

How to get your fit right — in two measurements

Two feet can be the same length but very different around the middle — so we fit by girth as well as length. Take both in the evening, when feet have spread a little through the day:

  • 1. Foot length. Stand on a sheet of paper, mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe, and measure between the two marks in centimetres.
  • 2. Ball girth — the key one for room. Take a soft tape measure (or a strip of paper or string) and wrap it around the widest part of your foot — straight across the ball, over the two knuckle joints at the base of your big and little toes. Do it standing, with your weight down. Read it in centimetres (if you used paper or string, mark where it meets and lay it flat against a ruler).
  • Now match both to our Size Guide — foot length and volume at ball. If your girth sits at or above the figure for your length size, you're exactly who these roomier styles are made for. On the line between two sizes, or wearing orthotics? Take the larger one.
  • Prefer adjustable styles (buckles and straps) if you like to fine-tune the fit, or removable-footbed styles if you wear your own orthotics.
Still unsure? Tell us your foot length and what you're looking for and we'll point you to the right style — we're Australian-based, with real people who know these shoes.

And if it's not quite right? Easy 30-day returns, here in Australia. Try them on at home on soft carpet, and if they're not the one, send them back — simple and local.
